Tatvi, an assistant professor of physical science in one of the elite institute joins today on this forum. Together we hope to create interesting discussion around academia and life in general. Welcome aboard Tatvi!!!
The main aspect of being in academics is the opportunity to travel to different destinations outside your home country and therefore meet and interact with people from varied cultures. I was fortunate to be in the middle east (Israel) and in the west (US) for a considerable period of my life. I encourage youngsters to choose this interesting career path compared to the conventional options of medicine and engineering. Now, I am back home and enjoying it. I will reflect upon my personal and scientific experiences through this blog.
Rainbow Scientist: I am an Indian scientist based in USA. In my previous life, I was a science professor in a college in heartland of India. In this blog, I will write about various subjects which touches me as a human being, as a scientist and as an Indian. Why this name? well, I am fascinated by academia, but at the same time by many other things in life as well. So I think a rainbow represents a spectrum of colors in life. And the word "scientist" is there just for the Google search not to be mingled with the searches on the rainbow and also to describe my passion with scientific research. I can be reached at RainbowScientist_at_gmail_dot_com.
